First introduced by Michael Jordan during the 1987–88 NBA season , the Air Jordan 3 is the first-ever basketball silhouette to feature exposed Air technology, inherited from the Air Max 1 .
The Air Jordan 3 Varsity Royal features a royal blue leather base with the iconic elephant print on the forefoot and heel. The design of the original model is retained, but the Swoosh on the side is missing from this new iteration. Black elements on the outsole and rear contrast with the predominantly blue color scheme. A perforated gray leather panel near the eyelets, black laces, and Jumpman branding complete the look.
